Position: Retail Supervisor (Part-Time)
Facility: Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada Reports to: Director of Retail Operations, Toronto
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Director of Retail Operations, the Retail Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the setup, merchandising and successful operation of the retail store, Cargo Hold at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. We are seeking an individual who is an energetic team leader, motivates others, and is passionate about the business of family fun and entertainment!

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure that all incoming merchandise is properly counted, ticketed and stocked.
  • Confirm that associates are properly trained on receiving procedures.
  • Organize and execute an accurate physical inventory as required.
  • Maintain ethical standards and objectivity in any dealings with suppliers.
  • Manage all aspects of the gift shop operations.
  • Confirm periodically that the inventory control system is accurate.
  • Assist as needed on sales floor to help maintain customer service and merchandising standards.
  • Expectation will be to work the retail floor 95% of the time, supporting staff. This will include stocking, merchandising, running a register, relieving staff for break periods etc.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior cash handling experience is required
  • Proven ability to problem solve.
  • Should be able to work in fast pace and team environment
  • Must be able to adapt to different situations
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You must physically be able to work the retail floor for a full shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel in order to stock shelves and move merchandise on the sales floor.
  • 1 - 3 year prior experience in management or operations is preferred.
