Role Overview The Supervisor contributes to the stores success by supporting the manager to create and maintain the world class experience for our customers. Assisting in managing the overall operation of the store, ensuring customer satisfaction, actively assisting to manage the stores financial performance and maximising store profitability, and helping to manage safety and security within the store. Our supervisors are expected to be a hands-on part of the team which will include shifts to support the needs of the team e.g., serving on the till, accepting and putting out deliveries and replenishing stock to ensure the store is reaching its full sales potential. Hours: Monday 11.30am-5.30pm, Tuesday 10.00am-6.00pm, either Friday, Saturday or Sunday 9.00am-5.00pm = 28 hours per week Location: Brough Road, South Cave, East Yorkshire, HU15 2DA Rate of Pay: £13.10 per hour Key Responsibilities On a day to day basis, the Supervisor will be supporting the Retail Manager with the below: Deliver world‑class customer experience by leading and motivating the site team Take full charge in the manager’s absence, including out‑of‑hours calls, cover, and email handling Communicate effectively with Retail Management, Senior Management and Professional Services to support high‑quality service delivery Keep the site running at full operational capacity through daily checks, issue resolution, and clear communication with staff Provide short‑notice shift cover when required, personally or by arranging team support and coordinate staffing across sites, ensuring effective management and team cover Maintain exceptional cleaning and housekeeping standards to keep the store world‑class. Coach the team to consistently deliver their best performance. Support recruitment and training for new and existing team members. Manage and monitor stock to ensure all key products remain available. Champion a safe and secure environment, following all Sewell Retail Health & Safety procedures. Skills & Attributes As well as exhibiting the Sewell Group Behaviours, the suitable person will have the following: Essential: Previous supervisory or management experience A passion for delivering a world-class service A ‘hands on’ approach to working and be able to use own initiative A positive, approachable and professional attitude and demeanour Possess a good level of computer literacy The ability to work both as a team member, and alone in a busy working environment. Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression Willingness to make yourself available through telephone/email contact on a 24 hours, 7 days per week basis, company phone provided.
