DESCRIPTION

As Retail Systems Manager, you will lead the development and ensure the reliability of our ticketing systems, including desktop and mobile platforms and Ticket Vending Machines. You will make sure these systems remain fit for purpose, adapt to evolving customer needs, and meet our obligations under the National Rail Contract.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in rail operations or retail.
  • Familiarity with legacy ticketing infrastructure and processes.
  • Experience in system and process testing, and developing briefing materials.
  • Understanding of ITSO smartcard schemes (beneficial but not essential).
  • Knowledge of season ticket databases and internal control systems (desired).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, SharePoint and Power Apps.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Support system improvements, testing, and implementation in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring effective maintenance and performance.
  • Coordinate the creation of retail bulletins and training materials for frontline teams.
  • Work with internal communications and operational teams to enhance system understanding and engagement.
  • Support procurement, finance, and audit processes, including budget management and asset control.
  • Manage the User Acceptance Testing room to ensure effective use and supplier access.
