Description The Retail Team Lead is responsible for maximizing sales and profits through the development of a quality sales organization and appropriate merchandise content within an area of the store. The Retail Team Lead also follows and enforce all company procedures and safety guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other responsibilities may be assigned): Maintain a consistent, high level of customer service within an area by participating in training and evaluation of associates’ selling performance. Review advertising calendar and maintain floor presentation to maximize sales opportunities. Build enthusiasm and awareness of promotional events amongst selling staff. Maintain an open and positive relationship with the store management team. Ensure company/store policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly. Address concerns with employees as needed and follow up with managers. Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing co-worker’s performance and service; inspire employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store. Provide feedback to the manager to help support the development of staff. Delegate daily tasks appropriately and effectively. Process damaged and defective goods in a timely and accurate manner. Protect company assets by following and loss prevention procedures; train staff on same. Model and ensure all policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are communicated effectively to employees, maintained and consistently followed. Work as a part of a high-performing team to achieve the store’s sales plan. Supports sales-driving initiatives, creates daily agendas, and directs selling activities as (MOD). Complete inventory transactions including but not limited to, receiving, MOS, and RARs. Work hand in hand with the production Lead. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail management and 6 months of supervisory experiences is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Using effective communications skills, including writing and verbal to convey information as appropriate for the need of the audience. Fluent in English MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to use a calculator and cash register. REASONING ABILITY: Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills. Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Selecting and using training/ instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situations when learning or teaching new things. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implementation of solutions. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Understanding and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook systems, along with other computer functions. Being a good team leader and a team builder. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention. Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, and store merchandising. Continually able to walk up and down a staircase, carrying boxes, products, and other necessary store-related items. Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean. Ability to safely lift boxes up to 55 lbs.
