Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a personable, organised and reliable individual to join a brand new Team at GRIDSERVE’s London Gatwick Electric Forecourt as a Team Leader.
Ideally you will have experience managing a team within a retail or hospitality environment, be an accredited and skilled Barista and must have a genuine interest in sustainability and decarbonisation so you can champion GRIDSERVE’s ambition to move the needle on Climate Change!
Our Forecourt will make Gatwick the first international airport in Europe to have its own dedicated electric vehicle station. The forecourt is one of the most technically advanced electric vehicle charging stations, powered by 100% renewable energy with a retail facility featuring a high-quality lounge for customers to use while their vehicles are charging. This also acts as an educational area, providing information about electric vehicles, solar energy generation and ecology.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A genuine interest in GRIDSERVE, EV’s and sustainability – Acting as a brand ambassador and caring about the product and service we provide.
  • Skilled Barista – accredited – minimum of 6 months experience.
  • Team management experience in managing a team of 10+ with a supportive and inclusive approach.
  • Able to work efficiently without close supervision and take initiative and knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Reliable and flexible in approach to work - willing to exceed expectations.
  • Passion for training and coaching.
  • Flexible and willing to work a range of early/late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays when the demands of the role require to do so. Work hours ranging from 4:00am to 10:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Team Management and Operational support to the General and Assistant General Manager when on shift to deliver an unbeatable service.
  • Lead on shifts, deploying team effectively according to the shift planner and ensuring all compliance, policies and procedures are adhered to including Health and Safety.
  • Train and accredit the retail team – train new staff and identify gaps in knowledge in the existing team and arrange appropriate training.
  • Deliver the highest levels of customer service encouraging positive customer feedback and sales.
  • Drive sales targets and identify additional opportunities.
