JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Training & Development Specialist will serve as support to the Retail Training & Pool Manager and provide input on training needs through interaction with and feedback from training participants, training peers, Learning & Development team members and Retail Leadership. This inventive and insightful individual will create and conduct training as part of the new hire processes. This position will also provide input to keep training program content current and will contribute to training program development & small-scale project work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Two-year degree in business, finance, human resources, or training & development preferred
At least two years of prior experience in a financial or banking industry desired
At least two years of prior training or work-related experience required
General knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and principles.
Two-year post-secondary degree/specialized study preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

General knowledge and comprehension of bank operations
General knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and principles
Ability to plan, develop, and deploy training programs and evaluate people and situations
Creativity and design skills are necessary

Responsibilities

Maintains course curriculum and delivery methods to most effectively promote the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate employees into day-to-day business practices
Manages Consumer Services SharePoint site to ensure a useful and up-to-date resource for policies, procedures, product information, FAQs, customer communications, and training materials
Coordinates, schedules, and completes on-boarding training and activities for Retail employees
Coordinates and completes CSR and Products/Services training sessions
Assists with onboarding, training, and daily support for Pool employees
Maintains strict accuracy when training or participating in teller line at branches
Evaluates training effectiveness and impacts to individual and organizational performance by reviewing and utilizing employee reports and performance
Participates in sales and service activities as directed by the Consumer Services Senior Manager in order for the Consumer Services Division to improve efficiencies and increase sales & revenue, while complying with State and Federal Laws and regulations
Assists with the day-to-day research and resolution of problems/issues and exception approvals for branch staff, including Managers and Assistant Managers
Completes timely and accurate training program administrative duties including, but not limited to: course completion, class cancellation communication, testing, supporting participant system access and providing participant training performance & behavioral feedback to the training participant’s supervisor or manager utilizing established performance management procedures and documentation
Keeps current with all policies, procedures, standards, and system updates that are supported and used by Retail sales and operations to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations, including completing annual compliance training
Performs other duties as assigned
