About the Role The company is seeking an experienced Retention Specialist to help drive customer retention and increase lifetime value through high-impact email and lifecycle marketing strategies. You’ll be responsible for developing, optimizing, and analyzing email flows, segmentation strategies, and engagement initiatives to boost repeat purchases and customer loyalty. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in email marketing, automation, and data-driven personalization within a performance-oriented eCommerce environment. ResponsibilitiesEmail Marketing Strategy Develop and execute lifecycle email campaigns, including welcome series, post-purchase flows, win-back sequences, and promotions. Segmentation & Personalization Use customer data to build targeted segments and personalized communication to improve engagement and retention. A/B Testing & Optimization Test subject lines, creative content, send times, and targeting to boost open rates, click-through rates, and conversions. Performance Analysis Track and interpret KPIs such as OR, CTR, CVR, and revenue per email, providing ongoing insights and recommendations. Automation & Workflow Management Build, refine, and maintain automated email sequences using tools like Klaviyo, Braze, or Iterable. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with creative, paid media, and eCommerce teams to align lifecycle strategies with broader marketing initiatives. Compliance & Deliverability Maintain compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and email best practices while ensuring strong deliverability. Customer Journey Insights Analyze customer behavior to identify opportunities for deeper engagement and improved retention. Design Strategy & Execution Apply email design best practices and work with tools such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite to ensure visually compelling content. 3–5 years of experience in email marketing, retention, or lifecycle marketing within DTC, eCommerce, or performance-driven environments. Experience working with international markets and/or multilingual campaigns. Proficiency in tools such as Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, or similar email platforms. Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, Looker, or BI platforms. Hands-on experience with A/B testing, segmentation, and automation workflows. Understanding of retention metrics including CLV, churn rate, repeat purchase rate. Strong copywriting and creative direction skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. A love for food and cooking—culinary experience is a plus.
