Retirement Living Finance Business Partner
Permanent | Full-time | Parramatta CBD and Sydney CBD (Hybrid: 3 days on site, 2 from home)

We’re seeking a finance professional who can combine technical expertise with compassion, helping us deliver transparent, accurate and meaningful financial outcomes for our residents and our organisation.
The Opportunity
As the Finance Business Partner – Retirement Living, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening our financial stewardship, governance, and partnership approach across our Retirement Living portfolio. Reporting into Commercial planning and analysis Leadership, you’ll act as the trusted liaison for Village Managers and Area Managers, ensuring strong financial management while supporting our residents and teams with clarity and care.
Key Responsibilities
Financial reporting
Lead and complete village budget outputs within statutory timeframes.
Support month-end and year-end processes to ensure accuracy and control.
Provide timely, transparent responses to village queries.
Maintain clear, well-structured information repositories.
Identify and drive improvements in accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
Provide subject matter expertise in Retirement Living finance.
Governance and control
Train Village Managers on cost drivers and financial outcomes.
Support the group accounting team with audit processes.
Develop resident and management training material on financial matters.
Deliver practical commercial solutions to financial challenges.
Ensure high-quality, people-centred financial outputs.
Partnership and leadership
Act as the key finance liaison for Village Managers and Housing leaders.
Partner with Area Managers, Village Managers and leadership teams through regular engagement.
Represent Finance at operational meetings and resident forums (budget and annual management meetings).
Collaborate with Retirement Living specialists across sales, product, and service delivery.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives in Finance and across the business.
Ensure teams are equipped to respond to regulatory changes and organisational growth.
About You
We’re looking for a finance professional who brings both technical expertise and the ability to build strong, trusted relationships:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial finance/analytical role within Retirement Living.
Specialist knowledge of financial management under the Retirement Villages Regulation.
Compassionate approach, with the ability to engage and respond to residents with care.
Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with a consultative and collegiate style.
Proactive problem-solver, resilient in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
This role also involves attending Village Budget Meetings (covering Sydney Metro, Hunter, Central Coast and Shellharbour regions) and Annual Management Meetings, giving you the opportunity to connect directly with residents and ensure clarity in financial outcomes
Advantageous: Skills in Power BI and Adaptive Insights.
What You’ll Be Doing in Your First Month
Build a strong understanding of Uniting’s Retirement Living portfolio and segmentation.
Familiarise yourself with the Finance Transparency Enhancement Project (FTEP).
Get across the village budgeting process quickly, ahead of FY26Q2.
