That’s Where You Come in as a Retirement Plan Administration Analyst Blue Ridge Associates is seeking a Retirement Plan Administration Analyst that will be an ambassador of our organization to our clients and industry. A Retirement Plan Administration Analyst is primarily responsible for: Census reconciliation Review and identify missing, inconsistent, or incorrect employee data Communicate with clients to request missing information, clarify discrepancies, and ensure all census data is complete and accurate Load corrected census data to testing software (FT William or Datair) Resolve data issues independently when possible and escalate complex cases to consultants as needed Trust accounting and reconciliation Conduct basic trust accounting by comparing client-provided census data with recordkeeper reports (e.g., John Hancock, Principal, Voya, American Funds, Ascensus/Vanguard, etc.) Identify and resolve discrepancies such as missing contributions, incorrect amounts, or misapplied payments Complete basic reconciliations independently and collaborate with consultants on more complex cases Deliver a fully reconciled, “clean” census to consultants for compliance testing Year-End Support Complete force-out packages and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) for eligible employees Compile valuation reports Collaboration and Quality Assurance Work closely with consultants and managers to review final census and reconciliation work Communicate professionally with clients to build rapport, gather information, resolve issues, and ensure data accuracy Maintain organized documentation and follow established procedures for data handling and plan processing Other duties as assigned Requirements What We’re Looking for in a Retirement Plan Administration Analyst The ideal Analyst will be: Motivated to solve problems Driven to help others Organized Detail-oriented Capable of managing deadlines and priorities A clear and professional communicator A collaborative and supportive team member Retirement Plan Administration Analyst Requirements Understanding of trust accounting principles or prior experience with account reconciliation Experience working with retirement plans, payroll and census data, or retirement plan recordkeeping systems Strong familiarity with financial concepts, including contributions, distributions, and account balances. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., sorting, filtering, basic formulas, etc.) Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong client relations and client-service mindset Ability to learn and retain key concepts quickly Ability to meet deadlines, manage workloads, and work effectively during peak periods. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and multi-task with accuracy and dependability. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and self-motivation. Must be able to commute daily to the Monrovia, CA office. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in business finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related field. Equivalent skills and industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Prior experience supporting consultants or specialists in a financial or benefits-related environment. Experience with defined benefit (DB) or defined contribution (DC) plans. Familiarity with Datair, FT William, or similar plan administration software Knowledge of IRS rules related to retirement plans including RMD and force-out rules Aptitude and accounting and mathematics beyond basic reconciliation Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally Multilingual candidates highly preferred – especially those fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish to better serve our client base.
