Description Job Title: RETURNING APPLICANTS ONLY - Ski Patrol Guide Operations Supervisor Type of Position: Part-time, Seasonal Schedule: As needed for operations, includes weekends/holidays Pay Rate: $30.00 – $34.00/hr., based on skills and experience Job Posting Deadline: October 4, 2025 Summary Provide leadership and organization for the Guides taking guests into Dry Gulch on Cat Tours including safety and first aid coverage for the skiing/snowboarding public. Assist the Ski Patrol Director and Assistant Patrol Director in selecting, training, scheduling, and supervision of all Dry Gulch Ski Guide operations. Develop and upgrade all Guiding procedures and operations. Responsible for skier/snowboarder safety, while touring in Dry Gulch. Supervising and leading Guides who are Guiding Cat Tour customers through backcountry terrain in the Dry Gulch permit area. Along with Snow Safety assessing snowpack in Dry Gulch zone and performing avalanche mitigation work as needed. Performing ski ability evaluation of Cat Tour customers. Providing emergency response and basic EMS care in the Dry Gulch permit area. Essential Functions Responsible for planning, organizing and executing all Dry Gulch cat tours Responsible for evaluating and recommending employees who are selected as snow cat guides Monitor performance of patrollers and provide input to Patrol Director and Assistant Patrol Director related to performance management, including evaluations, disciplinary action, promotions and assignment of special duties Provide training for patrollers performing guide responsibilities Guide skiers in backcountry terrain Perform avalanche control and rescue Identify hazards and potentially unsafe conditions Customer relations, Public relations and education May perform patroller duties if no cat tours scheduled and is available Requirements Requirements/Qualifications H. S. diploma or equivalent education and/or experience Previous Ski Guide experience and or similar outdoor group management experience . Previous Ski Patrol supervisor experience is preferred Possess and maintain Emergency Medical Technician and/or Outdoor Emergency Care certifications Possession of or the ability to pass a FELC criminal background check and obtain a CDLE Type 1 Explosives Permit, Knowledge of explosives handling and storage, avalanche control, search and rescue procedures and chairlift evacuation procedures. Pro 1 Avalanche Certification Possession of (or ability to obtain) a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate a snowmobile and essential medical equipment Backcountry touring route planning, group management and excellent communication skills. Snowpack assessment, terrain evaluation and mountain weather evaluation skills Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to communicate clearly in English – speak and understand verbal and written communications. Bilingual is helpful Expert level ski or snowboard ability Must be designated as a Class 4 Loveland Ski Patroller, or equivalent What’s in it for You? Free Loveland Employee Season Pass.
