We are hiring a Revenue Cycle Authorization Specialist who will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, submitting authorizations, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of patient coverage across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. This role is essential in maintaining access to care and supporting the operations of our Home Health and Hospice services. If you’re detail-oriented, familiar with payer systems, and passionate about healthcare access, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities: Verify patient eligibility and benefits for Home Health and Hospice services. Work assigned work queues to ensure all benefit-related tasks are completed in a timely manner. Contact insurance companies to confirm hospice coverage, authorizations, and recertifications. Submit initial and follow-up authorization requests, ensuring all required documentation is included. Review medical records for supporting documents needed for approvals. Communicate with field staff, branches, and facilities to obtain any missing information. Accurately document all verification and authorization steps in patients’ medical records. Collaborate with other departments and attend team meetings to share updates and resolve issues. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all patient and organizational information. About You Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 3 years of experience in Home Care or Hospice strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer authorization processes. Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools. Experience entering and managing data within electronic systems. Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
