Description Revenue Cycle Director Department: Finance Status Hours: Salaried Shift: Primarily 1st shift ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Summary: The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning revenue cycle process through analysis of current trends, data evaluation, process improvement, and preparation of reports. Critical responsibilities include achievement of annual and periodic goals for significant statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance, ensuring optimal financial performance for the organization. Key Responsibilities: Establishes benchmarks for all areas of the revenue cycle process; monitors reports on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis; investigates variances and reports findings and suggestions for improvement to the Chief Financial Officer. Acts as a liaison between Administration, Physician Offices, Information Systems, and Revenue Cycle Managers (Patient Access and Accounts, Cashier, Revenue Integrity) to ensure coordination of services. Works with Revenue Cycle Managers to ensure accurate and quality performance; ensures that staff under his/her supervision reviews and receives training, guidance, and appraisals regarding performance and compliance with laws and organizational policies. Plans, coordinates and prepares year-end audit and cost report data related to the revenue cycle. Leads cross-functional Revenue Cycle Teams that work to resolve and enhance hospital-wide revenue cycle processes and issues; participates in other Revenue Cycle, Denial Management and Chargemaster work teams. Supervises the integrity of financial and clinical interfaces while facilitating the development of processes to achieve maximum efficiencies in the Revenue Cycle. Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and directives from regulatory agencies and third-party payers. Promotes educational opportunities internally and externally to ensure staff are educated to perform proficiently. Demonstrates a clear understanding and adherence to the FCHC code of conduct standards, policy and procedures, confidentiality and organization-wide mission statement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field required. Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in revenue cycle processes. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) certification preferred. Proficient in Meditech, Microsoft Word and Excel. Understanding of IT concepts, audit policies, and risk assessment principles. Familiarity with project management techniques, finance, and Revenue Cycle processes.
