QUALIFICATIONS

Certified medical coder
Knowledge of billing and payment policies of various third-party payers
Experience in collections and accounts receivable
Insurance pre-certification and preauthorization experience
7 Years of medical billing experience preferred
Excellent Communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Charges and payment posting
Insurance claim follow-up
Answer patient phone calls and provides information on outstanding claims and/or balances
Resolve errors and make claim edits in work queue
Follow work list prioritization of accounts as established by practice policies and procedures for resolving accounts and/or submitting claims
Process all insurance correspondence and ensures claims are processed and paid
Resubmits claims that have received no response
Assist patients in completing forms, to include payment arrangements made with patients
Stays up to date on changes to billing guidelines
Ability to produce written protocols for charge entry used by providers and staff
