Description

We are looking for an experienced Rev Integrity Educator II to join our team in Dallas, Texas, on a long-term contract basis. This position plays a critical role in ensuring billing compliance and enhancing coding accuracy within the revenue cycle for clinical and medical departments. Ideal candidates will bring a deep understanding of medical coding, billing practices, and compliance standards, combined with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a long term contract position. 100% REMOTE, working Central Time Zone hours.

Revenue Integrity Educator II (remote contract position):Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed compliance audits for medical, surgical, and university clinical departments, reviewing chart-to-invoice, prebill charges, and retrospective evaluations.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to elevate team proficiency in anatomy, disease processes, and coding practices, while providing focused training to healthcare providers.
  • Perform independent reviews of medical records to verify coding accuracy and identify risks, implementing corrective measures and educational initiatives.
  • Respond to coding and documentation inquiries from healthcare professionals, ensuring alignment with payer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Compile and present audit findings through reports and presentations to departmental staff, billing managers, and compliance officers.
  • Analyze statistical reports to identify patterns of noncompliance, develop corrective action plans, and assist departments in revising compliance protocols.
  • Investigate potential noncompliance issues to assess institutional risks and recommend solutions based on Medicare and payer regulations.
  • Stay updated on coding, documentation, and compliance practices through continuous education and external collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Billing Compliance Department Committee to address compliance challenges and conduct risk assessments for clinical departments.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support departmental objectives.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in physician billing or coding.
  • Certification or licensure in one of the following: Registered Record Administrator, Registered Health Information Administrator, Advanced Records Technician, Registered Nurse (Texas Board of Nursing), Certified Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Medical Coder.
  • Proficiency in medical coding practices, including E/M services, procedure, diagnosis, and modifier coding.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct audits and summarize findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication abilities to provide feedback and training to healthcare providers.
  • Knowledge of payer and government regulations related to coding, billing, and documentation.
  • Commitment to ongoing development and staying current with industry standards.
