Overview:
Department: ED Coding
Location: Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC - hybrid
Schedule: Generally, Monday - Friday, holidays and occasional weekends required; an average of 1 day per month in office
Employment Type: Full time, hourly position with benefits
Preferred Qualifications: Medical billing and coding experience

• The Revenue Integrity Specialist reviews patient medical records to assess for appropriate charge entry for Emergency Department of the Novant system.
• This function includes applying coding principles for correct charging including, Infusion/Injection Hierarchy, other CPT guidelines and E/M rules.
• The Revenue Integrity Specialist will query Physicians and other providers for missing or unclear documentation to support the charge process. E/M charge parameters are entered directly and separately billable procedures are identified and charged accordingly.
