About the Role
We seek a professional analytical revenue strategist with knowledge in reservations to join our leadership team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne in the role of Revenue Manager.
Reporting to the Deputy General Manager you will be responsible for managing the hotel room revenue, to deliver REVPAR performance against budget growth targets. Through analysis of market and local intelligence to ensure the hotel can pursue revenue growth strategy in line with budget expectations.
This role will also assist with overseeing the reservations team, process and operation, by coaching and motivating the team to deliver quality service experience and meet set financial targets.
Core functions of your role
To truly excel in this role, you will have significant revenue management experience, ideally multi-site, be a natural leader and obtain thorough knowledge of Australian market trends and landscape.
Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day to day yield operations
Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting
Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends
Responsible for the projected occupancy, analysis and pricing group business strategies
Analyse overall monthly hotel performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies.
Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity
Create and maintain a 12-month rolling demand calendar
Create and develop pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of each hotel
Oversee and audit the standards and operations of the reservations department
Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional
Responsible for best practice standards to include: competitor analysis; environmental scanning; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concept
Work with stakeholders to ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional
Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business
Prepare outline for and support the annual revenue budget process
About you
We seek at least 3 years’ experience in hotel revenue management, with a track record of successful strategy implementation, and someone who is highly computer literate with a high-level understanding of Excel.
Exceptional analytical and numeric skills for fast data crunching
Ability to work under own initiative in a highly pressured environment
Effective listening skills and the ability to anticipate business needs
Able to develop relationships with 3rd parties and the hotel teams
Capacity to read situation, understand environments and respond accordingly
Capable of prioritizing between revenue generating actions and time-consuming tasks with low yield impact
Well-developed interpersonal, adaptive influencing and supervisory management skills
Proven experience in driving results and achieving and exceeding targets and KPI’s
OPERA/OPERA Cloud knowledge is desirable
