Description

Maxima's Recruitment Services team have an opportunity for an experienced Revenue Services Coordinator to join their client, a local Council based in Yeppoon. This opportunity is offering a casual hourly pay rate of $69.89 + super.

 

The purpose of this engagement is to provide effective management of the day-to-day functioning of the Revenue team and overseeing its performance to ensure safe and productive operations in a professional, efficient and confidential manner ensuring he development of good working relationships with all staff and the public.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and manage the Revenue team to deliver high performance, operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Oversee revenue systems, rating structures and processes to ensure accurate billing, collection and compliance with legislation and Council policies
  • Provide expert revenue and financial advice, stakeholder education, and respond to reports, correspondence and enquiries
  • Coordinate the development of policies, procedures, process improvements and financial reporting to support effective revenue management
  • Manage Council revenue accounts, fees and charges registers, and the efficient use of human and physical resources while identifying opportunities to improve revenue practices

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in revenue accounting, rating legislation, debt recovery and the application of local government financial policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop strategies and provide sound operational and strategic advice
  • Excellent communication, consultation, negotiation and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Proven leadership and people management capability, including staff supervision, development, motivation and fostering a collaborative team environment

Mandatory Qualifications and Licenses:

  • Current driver's license
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business (Accounting or related discipline) and substantial experience in a revenue management or accounting focused position
  • Experience in a local government environment - preferred
  • Revenue and Treasury Accountant background - advantageous
  • Ability to obtain a clear National Police Check
