The Revenues and Benefits Section is at the heart of Sheffield Services, responsible for Billing, Collection and Recovery of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit Payments, and recovery of Housing Benefit Overpayments & Sundry Debt, Council Tax & Housing Benefit Teams are dedicated to providing a high standard of service to the citizens of Sheffield.
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, efficient, proactive, competent candidate to join, support and lead within the Revenues and Benefits Teams as we are looking to appoint to a permanent post within Recovery 2 team - Housing Benefit Overpayment & Sundry Debt comprising of 3 days per week, 7 hrs per day, totalling 21 hours per week, working with and opposite the current Team Leader.
We are looking for excellent communicators, who can demonstrate a clear customer focus with excellent customer service skills, balanced with effective collection and recovery of Housing Benefit Overpayments and Sundry Debt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Leadership and Management of the Recovery 2 Team - Housing Benefit Payments, Overpayments & Sundry Debt recovery.
The key to this role being, effective management, effective leadership, supervision, support, and growth of the team and there is expectation for a level of IT skills and requirement to be experienced with Revs and Bens processing systems and Microsoft Office packages

The position is based at our Howden House office, town centre and we currently operate a hybrid working pattern with the expectation of 20% attendance in office.

Initially at 21 hrs per week (for transition period allowing the current TL flexible retirement) but will eventually move to 37 Hrs per week. Date currently unknown so advertising vacancy at 21 hrs per week.
