Description

The Reverse Mortgage Processing Team Lead is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of reverse mortgage processors to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of loan files. This role oversees pipeline management, reviews loan documentation for completeness and compliance with FHA/HUD, investor, and state-specific guidelines, and enforces regulatory requirements throughout the loan lifecycle. The Team Lead will collaborate closely with loan officers, underwriters, and management to deliver a smooth borrower experience, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service. Additionally, this position will identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize workflows within the loan origination system (LOS). A successful candidate will bring deep expertise in reverse mortgage lending, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance operational excellence with borrower satisfaction. DE Underwriter experience is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of Reverse Mortgage Processors or other operations staff.
  • Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable regulations, including FHA/HUD and Investor guidelines.
  • Manage pipeline reviews to ensure timely and efficient processing, identifying and resolving any potential issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on all relevant reverse mortgage regulations, including RESPA, FHA/HUD guidelines, and state-specific requirements.
  • Implement and enforce procedures to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, processors and management to ensure a smooth and efficient process for borrowers.
  • Communicate with borrowers as needed, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain a strong focus on providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall borrower experience.
  • Utilize loan origination software (LOS) and other related systems to optimize workflows.
  • Recommend and implement changes to worksheets and workflows within the system with management support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of residential mortgage processing and/or underwriting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a mortgage processing or underwriting role.
  • Reverse mortgage lending experience a MUST. Including in-depth knowledge of reverse mortgage lending, including FHA/HUD guidelines and proprietary products.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and the ability to work well under pressure.

    Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
