Description

Are you ready to shape the future of Reward across Australia and New Zealand?
We are seeking an experienced Reward Lead, based in Sydney and reporting directly to the HR Director. In this pivotal role, you will drive the reward and benefits agenda for both our Commercial and Operations sites, while also contributing to regional and global Reward initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a future-focused professional passionate about change management, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
We are looking for a natural relationship builder, communicator, and problem solver who can confidently influence, support, and challenge business leaders to deliver best-practice reward solutions. You will have a reputation for integrity, initiative, and strategic thinking, alongside a genuine passion for fostering a motivated and engaged employee experience.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Reward Lead, you will:

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and leaders to provide reward guidance, analysis and recommendations to sustain our ability to attract, engage and retain talent
  • Champion employee engagement metrics, using data to identify trends, inform decision-making and recommend new benefits that enhance motivation and wellbeing beyond base salary
  • Drive the planning and delivery of the annual compensation review, using market insights and benchmarking tools (job evaluation, Total Direct Compensation analysis, market pricing, etc.) to maintain our competitive edge
  • Interpret legislative and regulatory changes, assess impact and develop solutions that maintain compliance while supporting business success
  • Collaborate to ensure local reward practices are aligned to the global AZ governance framework; provide mentoring on governance requirements to HRBPs and lead proposals through approval processes
  • Design and implement audit processes and conduct robust compliance analysis and reporting
  • Design and implement local performance and reward initiatives utilising change management and project management best practices

ESSENTIAL FOR THE ROLE

  • At least 5 years as a Reward Manager or Lead, with experience across diverse cultures and regions
  • Extensive knowledge of reward and employee engagement, serving as a trusted advisor to senior HR and business leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, engage, and challenge senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes
  • Proven success in leading change management initiatives and reward transformation in multinational environments, both locally and regionally
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems (preferably Workday), including collaboration with offshore teams and managing third-party supplier contracts
  • Advanced skills in analysing data and engagement metrics, recommending innovative benefits to enhance motivation and wellbeing
  • Prior experience or leading annual workplace gender equality reporting (WGEA) to the AWEI
  • Experience working with major benefits providers, including novated leasing and insurance companies
  • Well-developed people skills, able to build relationships, negotiate with empathy, and confidently manage complex discussions and multiple projects
