Description
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc (MTSI) is seeking a mid-level RF Engineer in support of a technology development program at our customer’s site located on Redstone Arsenal. In this role you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to develop state-of-the-art RF solutions for our customers’ most challenging problems. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with advanced sensing and navigation systems, guide development of 6 DoF simulations, help inform hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL/HITL) testing, and field new systems. Candidates for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic, small-team environment where multiple research and development efforts are ongoing simultaneously. What You’ll Be Doing: Using high levels of ingenuity to identify and innovate new solutions to complex RF problems Working with industry experts to develop and deliver next-generation RF technologies Participating in technical discussions to assist in near- and long-term planning Developing and running software using MATLAB/SIMULINK and/or Python Providing assessments and recommendations for major RF subsystems like phased array antennas, RF signal processors (GPU and FPGA based), and computer algorithms Creating and presenting complex technical presentations related to RF systems to high-level program management and military officers Reviewing technical reports from across the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) Testing designs and ideas in state-of-the-art HWIL/HITL labs Providing technical expertise in one or more of the following: Digital signal processing Radio wave propagation Threat RF systems exploitation RF and/or digital hardware design and integration Waveform development and modeling Electronic Warfare (EW) systems Guidance and Navigation techniques Required Qualifications for This Role: B.S. in a Science/Engineering field (e.g. Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with 5+ years of directly related technical experience Outstanding communication skills in conveying complex technical issues and in providing comprehensive written, oral, and/or digital products Motivated self-starter who can work independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal guidance Experience with the design and/or testing of RF devices Proficiency developing engineering-level code in MATLAB and/or Python Test and Evaluation experience Top Secret clearance with in-scope SSBI Strong Candidates for this Role Will Also Have: M.S. or PhD with 8+ years of related experience Demonstrated ability to apply experience to non-textbook problems Experience working on classified and special access programs Experience developing systems for military applications (e.g. radar, data links) Experience with EW techniques and systems (e.g. jamming, countermeasures, and DRFMs) #LI-AS1
