JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled RF Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in radio frequency engineering and will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing RF systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills to ensure the successful execution of projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will work with all current and upcoming Radio Frequency (RF) technologies and modulation schemes to develop, design, deploy, and maintain wireless networks using technologies such as 5G NR, LTE, UMTS, GSM, CDMA, EVDO, WiFi, and microwave links across various frequency bands. You will be responsible for maintaining ‘green’ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by designing the most energy-efficient networks available for commercial wireless operators, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. You will collaborate with major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to further develop and enhance the current RF wireless technology offerings, utilizing various software and hardware toolsets to identify weaknesses in existing methods and procedures related to wireless network design and deployment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering (or related field)
  • A clear understanding of wireless Radio Frequency (RF) technologies like 5G NR, LTE, CDMA, GSM along with different modulation schemes such as QAM, QPSK, PSK, GMSK, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Small Cell architecture.
  • Working knowledge of RF components like Antennas, Splitters, Tappers, Couplers, Circulators, Combiners, Amplifiers and Power Distribution Unit (PDU).
  • Hands-on experience with a Spectrum Analyzer performing Cable sweeps, Return Loss, Insertion Loss, Distance to Fault (DTF), VSWR and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing is a plus
  • Ability to understand Link Budgets for various technologies and optimizing said budget
  • DAS EOM Certifications like Corning, CommScope, JMA, ADRF, Solid, etc. is a plus
  • IBwave Experience + Certification is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills
  • MS Office Suite experience

Responsibilities
  • Support the pre/post-sale project deployment, monitoring and maintenance process of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Wi-Fi, Point-to-Point and other communication systems for Telecom Operators and Enterprise customers
  • Provide pre-sales support by conducting site evaluations to assess coverage and facility conditions, DAS constructability and RF benchmarking as required.
  • Utilize iBwave design software to predict RF propagation as needed.
  • Create and Review Installation packages and work with Project Managers to ensure efficient planning and timely project handoffs
  • Perform CW - RF path lost testing to validate system designs on customer premises
  • Perform and support on-site BBU Integrations, Commissioning, Optimization, Testing and Troubleshooting of various DAS systems.
  • Conduct RF Performance Surveys using proprietary hardware and software data collection tools including but not limited to ibwave, WINd, TEMS, Qualipoc, Datapro, Mentum Planet, Atoll, Actix and Mapinfo.
  • Balance competing requirements between projects and ensure delivery dates are met for internal and external deployment activities
