You will be part of the connected products of the future, integrating Ultra-wideband, Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth into products such as smart lighting, thermostats, smart home speakers, mobile phones, laptops, access points, etc. For our Applications Team we are currently looking for a:

SUMMARY:

Qorvo’s Connectivity Systems Business Unit develops unique innovative Ultra-wideband, Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy semiconductor devices. Customers experience Qorvo’s differentiators through our development kits, Prof of Concept (PoC) designs and Demonstrators.
Your work focusses on designing boards as PoC’s, to demonstrate the applicability of the radio silicon in new applications. You will work as part of a team of applications engineers located across Europe. Therefore, you collaborate with remote colleagues on a daily basis, and you play a key role in board design. Your lab activities consist of testing and validating the new hardware. During this work you use a wide range of test and measurement equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or MSc in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) required.
  • The student must have completed some analog/RF circuit design course work.
  • Familiarity with EDA design tools like Orcad, Altium or KiCad.
  • Self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information.
  • Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products.
  • Be able to enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Understanding of embedded low-power wireless SoCs and embedded software is desirable.
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi, Zigbee / Matter and BLE standards is an asset.
  • Exposure to RF-microwave test equipment including signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Research potential applications and demos using Qorvo silicon.
  • Contribute to design of example (reference) application boards using Qorvo silicon.
  • Meet performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, and schedule.
  • Work as a member of a team to contribute design of schematics, layout, and real lab design verification data.
  • Work with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to verify the design.
