Our team is responsible for integrating RF sub-systems into modem applications from very first prototypes until mass production devices covering bring-up, validation, debugging and further quality improvement in strong collaboration with Concept, Firmware, Design and various test departments. DESCRIPTION

We are searching for an experienced Cellular RF Systems Engineer. In this role you have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of market-leading, cutting-edge cellular transceivers. Responsibilities include: - Bring-up, functional verification and debugging of RF subsystem/features in modem applications, - Develop / enhance automated test scripts to guarantee functionality and performance of RF sub-systems using Virtual Prototyping as well as existing Hardware, - Assess key performance parameters according to 3GPP specifications, debug and validate RF parameters on system level to meet 3GPP compliance in mass production (2G/3G/4G/5G) in SC / CA for FDD / TDD mode, - Analyse RF content of field test logs and derive RF related issues down to specific field of sub-system (Receiver / Transmitter / Power Management / System Engineering / Firmware / Development / Test equipment), - Operate RF measurement equipment and radio communication tester for cellular standards in non-signaling using RF sub-systems and in signalling mode on modem level, - Coordinate debugging effort as cross functional lead across disciplines using assigned experts (System Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Component Verification, Tooling Team, Test campaign owner), - Improve Quality-gate / regression testing for RF software releases based on found issues, - Being part of RF feature definition, - Contribute to Release notes satisfying industry state of the art, - Prepare and present status & progress tracking, - Train partner teams on RF subsystem features, how to debug and optimise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding in RF fundamentals & RF measurement techniques & operating an array of RF instruments with focus on cellular wireless test platforms
  • Proven experience in characterising and debugging RF cellular systems and components, including root cause analysis
  • Strong programming skills with Python for test script generation in a HW/SW environment
  • Expert in creating test automation scripts to run in lab and/or regression environment
  • Good knowledge of cellular 3GPP (2G/3G/4G/5G) standards with focus on RF aspects
  • Mastery of reviewing and interpreting 3GPP specifications for cellular TRX and modem applications
  • Proficiency in English language is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master´s degree or PhD in Electrical/Hardware Engineering or Computer Science with RF background, or proven industrial experience/degree equivalent
  • The ability to collaborate technically with various teams of the project setup (Design, Firmware, System, etc.)
  • Team spirit, excellent communication skills and the desire to accept diverse challenges are essential
