FSYR has been designated as the lead agency for the South Central Richmond Hill Community Action Table (SCRHCAT) by the Regional Municipality of York. We are hiring a Coordinator to join FSYR to lead the SCRHCAT. The Community Action Table (CAT) for Richmond Hill is intended to support residents who live, work and play in Richmond Hill. The role of the SCRHCAT Table under the leadership of the Coordinator is to implement York Region’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan by identifying strategizing and implementing protective factors initiatives and actions that contribute to overall community safety. To support this initiative, the SCRHCAT Table will bring together community stakeholders to identify community risks, determine risk mitigation strategies and actions and provide insights to inform the York Region Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement York Region’s Community Action Plan along with stakeholders in the Richmond Hill community
  • Build and maintain relationships with key community leaders and partners
  • Establish and foster effective relationships and partnerships with priority sectors that indirectly or directly address Mental Health and Wellbeing as well as Housing
  • Lead community engagement planning based on community needs and assets
  • Strengthen pathways to ensure resident interests are integrated into planning, development and integration of Richmond Hill’s Community Action Plan
  • Use needs assessments to animate initiatives and programs that are responsive to local and emergent needs, and enhance the quality of life of residents
  • When required, work collaboratively on the preparation of funding applications
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to funders, in collaboration
  • Identify and recommend relevant program funding opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree, or equivalent through both education and work experience
  • Experience in strategic and tactical community engagement, development, leadership, and supporting multi-sectoral partnerships
  • Experience in project development and implementation, grant writing, and reporting
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing workplans and measurements of success
  • Leadership in developing and driving multi-stakeholder partnerships and network committees
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in a variety of settings from an anti-oppressive framework
  • An energetic and welcoming personality with ability to be versatile, flexible and a team player.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Fluency in second language is an asset.
  • Ability to work remotely from home with internet capacity, in the office, and travel within York Region as required.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday with evening and weekend work as required.
