Job Title: Rides Attendant II Department: Rides Reports to: Rides and Attractions Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  Job Status: Part-time Job Purpose: To provide a safe and enjoyable experience to Zoo Atlanta’s Members and guests on all rides and attractions. ---------------------------------------- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Must be able to safely and efficiently operate all rides and attractions including the Zoo train, Wild Explorer (the 360° virtual reality experience) and Treetop Trail and Treetop Tykes (ropes courses) * Responsible for maintaining the highest level of safety in the work area by complying with all safety protocols and procedures * Outfit participants in climbing harnesses and make the needed adjustments to fit their body (Treetop attractions/ropes courses) * Attend mandatory training and meetings * Maintain positive working relationships and communication with all Zoo Atlanta teammates  * Must be willing to support Zoo Atlanta’s Vision, Mission, and Values  * Perform any other miscellaneous projects/assignment assigned by Zoo Atlanta’s management team * Must pass practical and written tests from RCI (the company who created our ropes courses)   Qualifications:  * Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record * Must have weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday)  * Must be comfortable working 30+ feet in the air (Treetop Trail) * 16 years or older  * Ability to understand and use a harness properly (Zoo Atlanta will provide this training) * Comfortable being in close proximity to people of all ages and genders * Must be friendly, outgoing and approachable * Must be able to multi-task and pay close attention to details  * Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year; therefore, all positions at Zoo Atlanta may require employees to work some weekends, holidays and evenings * Multi-lingual a plus Physical Demands:  * Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and stand for long periods of time.  * Must be able to reach the overhead track on the Treetop attractions.  * Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds.    Work Environment:   * Most work will be outdoors in all kinds of weather * Ability to work with large groups * Ability to work with children of all ages * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment MISC: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
