JOB PURPOSE: Assisting rig moves by preparing lifting plans for rigging and as described but not limited to the Duties and Responsibilities listed below. ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES: Approve and ensure the proper identification and calculation of lift arrangements and capacities. Approve and ensure proper calculation of required sling size based on properly identified load weight. Attach loads utilizing proper Center of Gravity (COG), select proper hitch to hold and control the load, to include tandem lifts, man-basket, and all other designated critical lift operations. Ensure and approve detailed inspection of all rigging equipment prior to use to ensure no defect with all equipment used within OEM guidelines. Setup and perform the designed lifting plan to ensure both rigging and loads are protected during the lift Creation and execution of multi-legged lifts while allowing for D/d ratio on the wire rope as per approved OEM / GI requirement. Creation and execution of choker hitch lifts while allowing for reduction on the slings Calculate Sling Angle Stress Perform correct hand signaling and deliver proper radio communication to ensure proper load control Use bridle and crane load charts in the creation of lifting plans Utilize conversion charts to ensure proper conversion from Metric to Imperial measurements Calculate areas and volumes of identified loads Be a Team player and a leader. Excellent Communications skills. Stand for extended periods of time. Walk moving on foot, particularly on hard, unleveled or wet surfaces. Touch/Hold/Grasp objects with hands/fingers for handling, feeling, picking, pinching; gripping or applying pressure to object with fingers and palm. Hear clearly and concisely perceive sounds. Ability to hear and understand detailed oral communications and hear subtle changes or discriminations in sound. Reach by extending your hands and arms in any direction Climb up and/or down ladders, stairs, ramps or other objects just using hands, arms, feet and legs. Balance and maintain equilibrium while moving, walking, standing, kneeling or crouching on narrow, uneven, irregular, wet or vibrating surfaces to prevent falling. Kneel by bending legs at the knee, working on one or both knees. Crouch/Stoop by bending body forward/downward by bending leg and spine, you will be working in a bent over position with safety harness on and/or using lower extremities and back muscles. See objects and detects motion, vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Lift/Move equipment parts and other objects, by raising and/or lowering them either a horizontal and/or vertical direction in a forward, backward, in or out motion Push/Pull an object by jerking, wrenching, stretching, towing, dragging, squeezing, mashing, packing, pressing, punching, compressing, jamming, compacting, squashing, shoving, tugging, etc. in a steady backward, forward, upward and/or outward in a sustained motion. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and Experience: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, all in English, write simple correspondence, Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and/or employees of the organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to adapt to change is a plus. Must be a good listener, able to plan and organize a schedule and possess the ability to make decisive decisions in a timely manner. Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Education and Certifications: High school as a minimum or higher. 3 years minimum as a Rigger-1 in the same field. Obtaining the proper certification to perform the job.
