Description Department: Survey Reports to: Department Manager Education: College-Level Courses in Land Surveying Registration: INDOT Right of Way Plan Development Certified Experience: Not less than 3 years in Land Surveying or Right of Way Engineering Duties: · Produce Federal, State, and Local mandated documents required for Land Acquisition in pending construction projects · Perform project research, review, and interpret title work · Prepare legal descriptions, right of way plans, right of way plats, area computations, calculation sheets, and stakeouts · Interpret and review Location Control Route Survey Plats and transportation design plans · Communicate with field crews and office staff to provide quality services · Communicate with clients, other consultants, and government officials for project-related items · Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices · Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Skills: · Able to work independently, with support from the Department Manager or other Survey staff · Possess good communication skills · Able to work within a “team concept.” · Proficient in the use of the INDOT Right of Way Engineering Manual · Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual – Part III Location Surveys · Working knowledge of the State of Indiana Administrative Code – Rule 12 · Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Process · Working knowledge of the INDOT Land Acquisition Process · Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel · Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Carlson software · Ability to meet deadlines · Expertise in geometry and trigonometry Physical Requirements: · Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday · Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed Other Requirements: · Possess a valid Indiana driver's license · Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy · Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy
