Job Title: Risk and Compliance Lawyer (Solicitor or CILEX)
Location: Multiple locations across Wiltshire and beyond
Salary: DOE

My client is currently seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Lawyer on a Part-time basis, working closely with the Partner, advising on AML, GDPR, complaints, and working with the Legal Ombudsman.
You will have the opportunity to liaise and work across all practice areas, ensuring risks are mitigated, and the firms policies are in-line with external legal regulations.

Responsibilities

You will be involved in:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development: Assist in monitoring and maintaining firm-wide compliance with AML/CDD procedures, GDPR regulations, and professional standards.
  • Complaints & Legal Ombudsman Liaison: Handle client complaints, liaise with Heads of Departments, and assist in communications with the Legal Ombudsman.
  • Data Protection & GDPR: Respond to GDPR/DSARs requests and monitor the implementation of policies and procedures relating to data privacy.
  • AML & Risk Management: Identify potential AML risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and assist in the development and implementation of AML policies.
  • Training & Awareness: Identify compliance training needs and coordinate firm-wide training sessions to ensure all staff remain up to date on key regulatory matters.
  • Internal Audits & Accreditation: Assist with the Lexcel accreditation process, conduct internal audits, and ensure continued compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Insurance & Risk Reporting: Prepare reports for the firm’s Professional Indemnity and Cyber Insurance renewals, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Project Support: Support the Risk & Compliance Partner with various compliance-related projects and strategic initiatives.
