Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. The BB Digital Line 1 Risk team is a dedicated team of risk professionals supporting BB Digital to ensure to ensure effective oversight, governance and management of risks, compliance obligations and controls. This role will report to the Chapter Lead Digital Non Financial Risk. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Manager to join BB Digital Line 1 Risk team. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders fostering a proactive risk and control culture that anticipates and responds to changes in the risk landscape, provide strategic advice, and enable the business to operate confidently within risk appetite. This is a highly collaborative role that supports the execution of business strategy while embedding strong risk management practices. Key responsibilities Embed and continuously enhance the risk and control framework, partnering with leaders to uplift processes and strengthen operational resilience Ensure high‑quality root cause analysis and effective remediation planning for incidents, near misses, and control failures. Manage compliance risk obligations, ensuring controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively to meet regulatory requirements. Lead identification, assessment, and management of operational risks, ensuring effective controls and timely remediation of incidents and issues. Oversee change risk across business and technology initiatives, ensuring risks are identified early and mitigations are embedded through the delivery lifecycle. Deliver timely, high‑quality risk insights for senior leadership and governance forums, including key metrics, emerging risks, control environment updates, and audit/regulatory response Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced team members, supporting their development and high‑quality delivery We're interested in people who have: Proven experience in Line 1 Operational and Compliance Risk, with strong knowledge of risk frameworks, controls design, incident management, and regulatory obligations Experience identifying and managing change risk across business or technology initiatives Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence, and provide clear risk advice Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to risk management.
