Ngā Kōrero mō tēnei tūranga / About the role We’re looking for an experienced Risk & Quality (R&Q) professional to join our Advisory team, based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. This role plays a vital part in supporting the firm’s independence, compliance, and quality objectives across Consulting, Deals, and Risk Services. You’ll work closely with local and global R&Q teams, as well as business stakeholders, to strengthen risk frameworks, provide technical guidance, and help embed a strong culture of quality and compliance across Advisory. In this role, you will: Act as a technical expert in Advisory R&Q policies and procedures, supporting Partners and staff in structured forums and on demand Assess new business opportunities, risk profiles, and apply safeguards in line with global independence requirements Advise on and support the Global Quality Engagement Programme, helping ensure consistent quality across engagements Provide R&Q advice across Consulting, Deals, and Risk Services portfolios Support transformation and large-scale technology programmes by advising on R&Q implications and controls Manage and support the resolution of risk matters, disputes, and potential breaches with sound professional judgment Stay across emerging services such as AI, Managed Services, and Data Management, and their implications for Advisory R&Q Prepare high-quality executive and board reports, and deliver firm-wide R&Q training and communication materials Contribute to implementing new network risk and compliance policies, working closely with LoS and global teams Explore and apply GenAI solutions to enhance risk management and compliance processes Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience To be successful, you’ll bring: 5+ years’ experience in risk management, independence, or compliance within professional services Proven technical knowledge of Advisory R&Q policies, contracting terms, and compliance frameworks Strong communication and relationship skills - able to engage and advise Partners and staff confidently and with empathy Experience preparing reports, policies, and training materials to a high professional standard Proficiency with Microsoft suite, web-based systems, and GenAI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) Strong problem-solving, investigation, and root cause analysis skills Experience managing multiple priorities and projects effectively A university degree Ngā āhuatanga hirahira o te mahi ki PwC / Highlights of working at PwC NZ Growth - Global network; leadership development; AI tools and training; formal learning pathways Reputation - PwC is known for shaping tomorrow.
