RISK CONSULTANT PROPERTY - ENGINEER

Milan, Italy

AXA XL Risk Consulting is looking for a qualified Property Risk Consultant, as a member of the APAC & Europe Business Unit. Based in Italy (Milan office), the role will support:

  • Underwriters’ colleagues in the assessment of risks AXA XL is insuring;
  • Local and global clients in the identification, evaluation, anticipation, and prevention of property risks.

This position requires technical background to identify and mitigate Property and Nat Cat risk exposures for a broad range of project types and customers.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Conducting onsite visits to assess property loss control and Nat Cat exposures.
  • Develop detailed reports to relay conditions and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze building construction, fire protection features, process operations and special hazards.
  • Provide technical consultation and plan review of fire protection systems, fire alarms, construction, etc.
  • Demonstrate the value of risk engineering services by building credibility and creating strong customer satisfaction.
  • Working directly with clients to improve their property risk profile.
  • This position will service Italian and EU territory and support insured and non-insured clients.
  • Travel is anticipated to be around 50%

You will report to Risk Consulting Manager - Italy.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Chemical or Mechanic or Electric or Civil Engineering degree.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English are essential.
  • Working knowledge of fire protection or willingness to learn. Experience on industry fields or Risk Consulting is a plus
  • Ability to apply industry experience and knowledge to a broad range of customers and projects
  • Ability to listen effectively and make sound assessments/conclusions based on review of written procedures, documents, discussions, and observations.
  • Communicate effectively with broad range of underwriting and customer partners.
  • Self-starter, continually looking towards individual development, capable of managing his/her schedule and resources, continually assessing workload considering business priorities and directing his/her own efforts accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, proactively across lines of business, and effectively with internal and external partners on special projects and furthering industry and business goals.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
