About the role: Rabobank’s Chief Product Office (CPO) exists to accelerate the delivery of meaningful value to the bank by guiding & prioritising digital products & services that enhance client engagement, support staff, & enable strategic objectives. CPO is now seeking an experienced Risk Manager based in Sydney. In this high‑impact Line 1 role, you will influence enterprise‑wide change & partner closely with technology, operations, country banking, & product teams across a diverse range of initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring all projects & material business changes meet Rabobank’s risk standards. You will coordinate across all three Lines of Defence, prepare high‑quality risk papers, deliver insightful reporting, & support governance & in‑control activities. Top Role Accountabilities: Provide pragmatic, risk‑aligned guidance to product teams to shape design & delivery outcomes Assess material business change impacts across a diverse project portfolio, ensuring processes & controls are designed & delivered in line with risk frameworks & appetite Map end‑to‑end processes to identify risks, control gaps, & impacts Evaluate control effectiveness, risk ratings, & required remediation Coordinate seamlessly between Line 1 & Line 2 stakeholders to ensure clear oversight, alignment, & timely escalation of risks & issues Prepare high‑quality risk documentation, including risk papers, memos, & committee submissions Ensure consistent application of risk processes, championing uplift in risk maturity & improving how change is governed across the department Drive proactive improvements in controls, processes, & risk management practices To be successful, you will have: Strong experience in a Risk or Compliance role with a strong focus on risk in change & controls Extensive experience in managing & evaluating risk Strong ability to understand & navigate complex risk frameworks & translate them into practical, actionable guidance An understanding of key non-financial risk management concepts & frameworks Excellent written & verbal communication skills Proven ability to influence stakeholders & deliver pragmatic, risk‑sound outcomes Strong documentation, analytical, & coordination skills Experience with digital products or project management is desirable.
