Due to promotion, we’re looking for a Risk Engineer to support the Risk Management and Contingency Management frameworks, processes, systems and deliverables for the M80 Project.
The Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Project Risk Management Support – Support identification, evaluation, and monitoring project risks and opportunities, and contribute to the maintenance of the Risk Management System, Risk Register, and associated software.
  • Workshops & Analysis – Support the facilitation and documentation of Risk and Opportunity workshops and assist with quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis on a periodic basis.
  • Mitigation & Reporting – Identify, manage, and close out risk actions, while supporting the development of mitigation plans and preparing regular reports on the overall risk and opportunity position.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise and collaborate with key project stakeholders including the client (NELP), senior leadership, design, engineering, construction, project controls, planning, and commercial teams.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing – Provide input into risk management training, run workshops on systems and process, and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Alliance Culture & Safety – Promote and uphold Alliance values by fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment, and actively participate in safety and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement & Diversity – Support the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance team performance, workplace culture, and diversity and inclusion across the Alliance.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualified in Risk Management, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Commerce, / Business, Accounting, Finance, or Law.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Risk Management roles in a project, construction or consulting context highly regarded.
  • Attention to detail and strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast- paced project environment at times.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret data to identify trends or emerging risks.
  • Key competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
