About the role AGL is looking for an experienced Risk Lead to support our Customer Markets business unit in optimising its performance and resilience across the operational risk portfolio. As a Risk Lead, you’ll be part of a centralised team and a subject matter expert in line 1 risk management. You will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of line 1, operational risk, applying a collaborative, practical and pragmatic approach in line with enterprise frameworks. This role is outcomes focused, and key to providing meaningful insights and risk reporting to senior stakeholders, whilst also supporting the ongoing improvement of risk maturity. Key Responsibilities Promote a strong risk culture through training, guidance, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Partner with key stakeholders to effectively identify, assess, monitor and manage operational and compliance risks in line with the Customer Markets risk framework. Deliver insightful and actionable risk reports, providing recommendations to improve commercial, operational, and customer outcomes. Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs), identify emerging risks, and ensure accurate risk data governance and ownership. Partner with key stakeholders to support the implementation of risk treatment plans, contributing to the ongoing improvement of overall risk maturity. Provide informal mentoring and coaching for more junior team members. About You Extensive experience in operational risk management/compliance and/or audit within complex and highly regulated environment (essential). Strong knowledge and experience around Line 1 operational risk. Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to identify key risks, analyse trends, and recommend effective controls. Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare insightful risk reports and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups. Highly proactive self-starter, who can self-manage time and priorities with a high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, registers, and risk data management. Proficiency with GRC systems and data tools, and a working knowledge of ISO 31000 or relevant risk management certifications is highly regarded.
