Our purpose points the way In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges. Since we began more than a century ago, this has been our guide. It’s how we've gotten so far. And it’s how we'll impact the future. Now, more than ever, the world needs change. And with biosolutions, the possibilities for transformation are endless. We’re here to better our world with biology. You will join a Risk Management and Internal Controls team that helps Novonesis grow safely and sustainably. Our purpose is to enable the business to make better-informed decisions by ensuring that our processes are well-controlled, compliant, and transparent. We are responsible for key activities such as risk assessments, internal control design and testing, governance reporting and continuous improvement of our risk framework. Going forward, we will increasingly focus on data‑driven risk management, digital tools, and supporting new initiatives across Novonesis as the company evolves. The team works closely with finance, operations, IT, commercial and other global functions to: Translate Novonesis’ purpose and strategy into robust risk and control practices Protect our people, assets, reputation and license to operate Support innovation and new business initiatives with proactive risk insights You can expect a supportive environment where your professional judgement is valued and where you will be encouraged to develop your skills within risk management and controls. We look out for each other in our daily work. We share knowledge, challenge each other constructively, and collaborate across geographies and cultures. As the position engages with multiple areas of the organisation, candidates should expect 40–50 days of travel each year. As a Risk Management and Internal Controls Specialist, you will play a central role in strengthening Novonesis’ risk and control environment and in supporting management with high‑quality risk insights. You will: Run and support risk assessments across selected business areas and key processes Design and improve internal controls in collaboration with process owners Test of controls effectiveness and follow up on control weaknesses Perform and coordinate control audits and follow up on observations and remediation actions Prepare clear, structured risk and control reporting for management and relevant forums Support improvements to policies, guidelines and tools within risk management and internal controls Participating in fraud investigations and support fraud prevention initiatives You will work with a broad stakeholder group, from local process owners to senior management, and help them balance risk, efficiency and compliance in everyday decisions. You are motivated by working with structure, transparency and quality – and by helping others make better decisions through solid risk and control practices. You enjoy collaborating across functions and cultures, and you are comfortable both challenging and supporting your stakeholders. You bring: A relevant degree (e.g. finance, accounting, business, economics or similar) Experience in risk management, internal controls, internal audit, compliance or a related area A good understanding of risk and control frameworks (for example COSO or ISO 31000) Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and document complex processes Clear communication skills in English, both spoken and written A structured, proactive way of working and a high sense of responsibility Your personal skills are important. Because we operate in a complex, regulated and quality‑focused environment, you need to be thorough, reliable and curious, with the courage to ask questions and to challenge the status quo when needed. At the same time, you should be collaborative and open, as you will succeed through building trust and strong relationships with colleagues across Novonesis.
