QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the property casualty commercial insurance
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a risk management, loss control, or safety role
  • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required
  • Experience with Insurance Brokerage Agency Management systems (EPIC, Applied, etc.) is preferred
  • Understanding of Wisconsin’s WC rating system and MOD factor calculation required
  • Prior industrial hygiene experience preferred
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management) designations not a prerequisite, but will be required in the future
  • CPCU, AIC, SCLA or equivalent other designations ideal
  • OSHA trainer certification is not a prerequisite, but will be required in the future as a condition of hire
  • State of Wisconsin Property & Casualty license not required at time of hire, but must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
  • Participation in the Wisconsin chapter of RIMS (Risk Management Society) or other similar trade associations preferred
  • Periodic travel to client locations, mostly in Wisconsin, required
  • Overnight travel is rare and likely required no more than 5-10 business days per year
  • Hybrid - Salaried & Commission based. Commission structured similar to Account Executive on WERMC accounts, and on any other new business commercial accounts which is directly prospected (case-case, dependent on service needs and responsibilities of the account).

Responsibilities

Assist clients with identifying and managing risks and safety needs in support of their insurance program. Provide loss control and safety advice and services to clients, including consulting, training, or special projects.

  • Support clients in developing and/or managing their safety programs and related safety manual documents.
  • Identify and engage external safety or loss control resources and deploy those resources to clients
  • Conduct job site surveys or safety audits for large commercial clients
  • Provide client training on relevant and timely loss control or safety topics
  • Coordinate and/or conduct MOCK OSHA audits and provide OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour training to clients
  • Provide client fleet management support to include managing DOT regulatory requirements
  • Oversee Ansay Risk Pro (On demand web-based risk management resource) program and ensure it is effectively meeting client needs. Administer weekly.
  • Educate clients on workers compensation rating and MOD factor analysis and oversee WC experience MOD management tools such as Modmaster, deploying expertise and resources as needed to clients.
  • Work with Claims Advocate Manager to manage and administer Ansay’s Medcor nurse triage resource
  • Collaborate with clients with worker claim prevention strategies, effective return to work programs, and management of their WC loss experience overall
  • Maintain a library of risk management reference material
  • Develop and maintain on external consultant contact list and categorize by specialty services (i.e. DOT compliance, OSHA, material handling, food safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics)
  • Participate in large account safety meetings and safety training
  • Analyze client historical loss and claims data, assess the frequency and severity of future losses, and making recommendations on how to manage these claims exposures
  • Attend carrier loss control visits with clients and assist clients’ efforts to understand and comply with the carrier loss control recommendation or requirements. provide preliminary loss control inspections and evaluations to reduce the client’s burden of later complying with the carrier loss control requirements.
  • Review and analyze client contracts in relation to identifying and managing risk management or insurance needs
  • Assist the Ansay sales team in preparing for client policy renewals, mid term carrier interactions, and positioning the client for favorable rate and coverage terms
  • Conduct large account prospecting, promoting the sales and marketing of new commercial customers.
  • Continue participation in WERMC (Wisconsin Educators Risk Management Cooperative), support loss control needs of member clients, and provide advisory support to the association as a whole.
  • Offer training for upcoming WERMC conferences as requested by the association
  • Continue marketing and prospecting of potential school district accounts
  • Participate in the INVEST partnership between CM Regent and Ansay, providing curriculum and instruction support for that financial and insurance literary program aimed at Wisconsin high schools. Serve as the direct insurance contact for participating school districts and work with them and students to identify internship opportunities.
  • Provide client claims support to Claims Advocate Manager as needed
  • Attend Ansay regional monthly and annual sales meetings and provide training or updates on risk management initiatives upon request of upper management.
