PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To manage relevant risks within area of accountability by identifying, managing and mitigating risk in accordance with defined business appetite and aligned to relevant risk frameworks and policies. Are you someone who can: Identify, measure, assess, report and monitor risks within the designated portfolio (includes credit origination, collateral management, on-going risk management and collections); Provide expert guidance on the implementation and enhancement of risk tools, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory frameworks. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk tools and reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and accurate business line mappings. Perform deep dive data analysis to identify and measure trends of risk exposure Conduct root cause analyses to identify key risk areas and oversee the development of action plans to mitigate those risks. Document and analyse processes for enhancement, efficiency and other improvement opportunities Prepare and analyze risk reports for presentation at various Risk Committees, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Drive a combined assurance approach by collaborating with internal stakeholders and assurance partners to manage key risk matters. Lead comprehensive risk assessments for new products, services, and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with the approved risk appetite. Develop and maintain a monitoring plan to ensure coverage of key controls and compliance with relevant risk control frameworks. Build and nurture a strong risk culture through awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and training initiatives. Track and report progress on risk strategy implementation to relevant governance forums and escalate significant risk issues as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity plans are tested, updated, and aligned with strategic objectives. You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements: Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, or Data Science. A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Risk , Auditing, Accounting and/or Process Engineering will be an added advantage. Experience in Banking Sector Credit department will also be an added advantage Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services or banking, with at least 2 years middle management role. Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance structures, and regulatory requirements. Experience in data analysis, risk reporting, and the use of risk management tools.
