We are offering an exciting Risk Manager Collection Strategy position to lead sustainable growth within our Money business unit which includes Personal Loans and Motor Loans across Australia and New Zealand.
In this role, you will focus on optimising credit risk origination and account management collections strategies for our personal loan and motor portfolios in Australia and New Zealand.
You will be responsible for driving initiatives from concept to execution, working closely with the Head of Credit Risk. Your role will involve identifying opportunities, influencing key decision-makers to support your recommendations, and collaborating across teams to implement strategies. Additionally, you will monitor key metrics to ensure performance aligns with the company’s risk appetite.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Acting as a key contributor within the Credit Risk Money team, ensuring high-quality, comprehensive, and actionable insights that support business goals.
  • Evaluating the risk/reward balance for key Money business growth initiatives, which include:
  • Optimising debt recovery strategies and policies to balance delinquency performance, credit risk exposure, operational overhead, and complexity, all within the company’s risk appetite.
  • Leveraging suitable and proven credit-related data (e.g., credit scoring, account management, delinquency, external data, and origination/behaviour data).
  • Ensuring risk/reward trade-offs comply with legal, regulatory, and Latitude’s values.
  • Monitoring the execution of collections strategies to ensure they align with risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Providing senior business leaders with actionable recommendations for optimising collections strategies.
  • Be accountable for the forecasted benefits of each strategy change, providing regular performance updates to key business stakeholders and forums.
  • Ensure credit risk strategies are implemented according to risk requirements, including testing and timely deployment.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging trends, and communicate insights clearly and effectively to the business.
  • Serve as the senior credit risk SME for cross-departmental projects, offering expertise as needed for specific initiatives or collaborative efforts.
  • Foster strong collaboration with Collections Operations and Hardship operational teams;, providing support for A&NZ collections projects to meet loss targets.
  • Support our debt sale management program, including optimising our debt sale strategy and ensuring all forward flow and inventory tenders are completed and changes are implemented in a timely manner.
  • In the event of operational risk events, take ownership and drive cross-functional collaboration to close out issues promptly.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor analysts, fostering skill development, knowledge growth, and a culture of innovation and challenge within the risk team.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement for governance, portfolio reviews, and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with Money leadership, Line 2 Risk, and Operations to provide both tactical and strategic risk management support and oversight.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree-level education in a numerate or relevant commercial discipline.
  • Experience in Credit Risk Management: A proven track record in Consumer Credit Risk Management, with the ability to drive results. Experience in Collections is also preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in coding with SAS, SPSS, or SQL to extract, analyse, and make recommendations based on data insights.
  • Strong focus on maintaining accuracy while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a capacity to present complex analytical information in an understandable manner.
  • Strong skills in facilitating discussions and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders at both peer and senior levels.
  • Strong commercial understanding and the ability to make decisions that align with business goals.
  • Collaborative and a true team player, fostering positive relationships across functions.
