My client is keen to appoint a RISK MANAGER to support the implementation, embedding, and day-today operation of the the risk management framework.


The successful incumbent will act as trusted partner to all business areas, collaborating to identify, assess, monitor and manage key risks, ensuring they are understood, controlled, and reported effectively.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring consistent application of risk policies, standards, methodologies, and risk appetite
  • Work closely with all business areas to identify, assess, and document key strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, and emerging risks as they occur
  • Challenge and support first-line teams in the design and effectiveness of risk controls, providing pragmatic risk advice that aligns to business objectives
  • Facilitate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and deep-dive reviews, whilst also supporting the maintenance of risk registers, ensuring all risks are clearly articulated and rated
  • Prepare and coordinate risk reporting for senior management, risk committees, and boards, including key indicators (KRIs) and trend analysis
  • Support risk governance forums, preparing of papers and action points, and ensuring the continuous improvement of risk dashboards and reporting packs.
  • Ensure risk issues, incidents, and breaches are captured, analysed, and reported appropriately
  • Support any enhancement in risk management tools where opportunity arises, whilst also providing risk training and awareness activities to promote a strong risk culture
  • Remain well-informed on relevant industry best-practice developments in risk management
  • Provide ongoing support to business areas in regards to annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) reviews, Business Continuity Plan reviews and testing


Essential Role Requirements:


  • Proven experience in a second line risk management role in the Financial Services sector
  • Experience of working with business stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risks
  • Ability to interpret complex information, and communicate that information clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Good experience with producing high-quality risk reports for senior stakeholders or governance committees
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to challenge constructively while maintaining effective working relationships
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Role


The Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and continuous enhancement of LiveMore’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, with specific responsibility for helping to embed effective operational resilience, business continuity planning, risk event management and GDPR/data protection risk oversight across the business.


Working closely with First Line risk owners and senior stakeholders, the role will help ensure principal risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported appropriately, including risks relating to important business services, third-party dependency, continuity planning, information governance and personal data protection.


Responsibilities


  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of LiveMore’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring risk management practices remain proportionate, effective and aligned to the needs of a growing UK mortgage lender.
  • Maintain the Company’s Risk Register, Risk Taxonomy and Risk and Control Self-Assessments, ensuring risks and controls remain current, accurate and consistently assessed.
  • Facilitate regular risk reviews with First Line risk owners, challenge risk assessments, track management actions and escalate overdue or material remediation items where appropriate.
  • Support the identification, assessment and management of operational, conduct, regulatory, consumer duty, data protection, outsourcing, information security and operational resilience risks.
  • Maintain the Risk Event and Incident Register, support root cause analysis, assess potential customer, regulatory, operational and data protection impacts, and ensure relevant lessons learned are incorporated into the control environment.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of LiveMore’s Operational Resilience Framework, including Important Business Services, impact tolerances, dependency mapping, scenario testing, remediation tracking and governance reporting.
  • Maintain and coordinate Business Continuity Planning activity, including business impact analysis, continuity plans, testing schedules, lessons learned and action tracking with business owners.
  • Support GDPR and data protection governance, including DPIAs, privacy risk assessments, data incident reviews, supplier due diligence, records of processing activity and monitoring of data protection actions.
  • Prepare regular risk reporting, dashboards and management information for senior management, Risk Committee and Board-level governance as required.
  • Support regulatory horizon scanning, impact assessments and the monitoring of FCA requirements, including Consumer Duty, SM&CR, MCOB, outsourcing and operational resilience expectations.
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and opportunities to improve the maturity of LiveMore’s risk and control environment.
  • Provide practical guidance to colleagues on risk management, incident management, risk acceptance, control assessment and governance requirements.
  • Promote risk awareness, accountability and constructive challenge across the organisation, supporting the embedding of a positive and proactive risk culture.


Requirements


  • Sound knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk and risk governance within a UK regulated financial services environment.
  • Proven experience working within a mortgage lender, bank, building society or specialist lending organisation.
  • Practical understanding of the principal risks facing mortgage lenders, including operational, conduct, regulatory, Consumer Duty, GDPR/data protection, outsourcing, information security, third-party and operational resilience risks.
  • Experience maintaining Risk Registers, Risk Taxonomies, RCSAs, issue logs, incident registers or similar risk management tools.
  • Experience supporting Operational Resilience and Business Continuity frameworks, including impact analysis, scenario testing, continuity plan maintenance, incident response and remediation tracking.
  • Working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection governance, including DPIAs, data incidents, supplier risk, privacy controls and the practical application of data protection requirements in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to produce clear MI, identify trends and explain risk issues to senior stakeholders and business teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality committee papers, action updates and risk reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment while providing constructive challenge where required.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities through to completion.
