About the Team The Risk Officer will report to Director, Risk in the Risk Team within the Office of General Counsel (OGC) which involves the functions of Risk & Insurance, Legal and Compliance. The OGC is located within Chancellery and is led by the General Counsel and Executive Director, Risk and Compliance. This new unit has brought together key risk related functions and consists of three teams:• Risk • Legal• Compliance and Assurance The Risk Team is a growing team and part of a newly created unit responsible for legal, risk and compliance functions, situated within Chancellery. The team has developed a risk framework and provides support across UTS to enable the effective identification and management of the University’s business risks, including but not limited to enterprise, financial, operational, environmental, health & safety, fraud & corruption and reputational risks.
DETAILED DESCRIPTIONAbout the Role The Risk Officer is responsible for supporting the University in efficient and effective risk management. The Risk Officer will provide support for the ongoing implementation of the UTS’s Risk Management Framework by working with various University stakeholders. The Risk Officer will provide risk and assurance advice to University stakeholders about how to manage risks arising from University activities and transactions, and the effectiveness of any controls, in the University environment. The role is responsible for delivering initiatives to build risk management awareness and maturity within Portfolios and Divisions from across the whole University. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: • Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, oversee risk software use (Protecht), and ensuring effective risk reporting and assessments.• Delivering risk and software training, supporting bi-annual faculty and business unit risk updates, and helping build a strong risk management culture.• Drafting risk reports, managing SharePoint content related to risk and insurance, and assisting with various operational risk activities as required.• Managing insurance claims, providing advice on insurance requirements for contracts and tenders, and coordinating insurance-related workshops and valuations.• Supporting the annual insurance renewal process, assisting with reporting and data analysis, updating insurance procedures, and raising purchase orders for premium payments. Knowledge of International risk management standards and risk management tools and techniques.5. Strong knowledge of a project environment and related work – including research, planning, project tracking and monitoring and project implementation. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $107,402 - $118,813 pa (HEW 7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
