What you’ll Do As an Associate on the Clearing Policy & Market Structure team, you will provide critical insight and qualitative analysis of the latest trends in market structure changes across derivatives and securities markets. You will support the team in efforts of external engagement on cross margining of financial instruments, capital analysis of access models for clearing services, and in material preparation (roundtables, external meetings, onboarding) and regulatory engagement support. Capital & Regulatory Analysis: Familiarity with regulatory capital requirements across multiple regulatory regimes (CFTC, SEC, U.S. Banking Agencies, and Basel III) is preferred. Markets are changing as new innovative solutions leveraging emerging technologies are now ingrained within existing financial market infrastructures. You will help analyze the best ways to incorporate these solutions in the most capital efficient way for CME’s global Clearing base, and communicate these solutions internally and externally. Author External Documentation: Resources for external education and feedback are necessary to ensure consistent messaging of CME’s newly emerging clearing offerings, you will help develop qualitative materials and tailor them to specific use cases and audiences which can include customers, clearing members, and clearinghouse regulators. Collaboration: You will act as a primary point of contact within CME’s clearing services to discuss market structure questions and to help educate externally the key aspects of CME’s global offerings. What You’ll Bring Education: Bachelor’s degree is required and those with a financial focus are preferred (Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics). Professional certifications, CFA, CPA, are preferred. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in financial markets within a financial institution or management consultancy. Communication: Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare materials covering complicated financial markets and risk management topics for external engagements. Qualitative & Quantitative Skills: Solid understanding of financial markets and familiarity with a diverse set of financial instruments, including U.S. Treasury Markets, derivatives, securities markets and emerging asset classes. Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and understand complicated financial literature and the ability to effectively communicate with others. Proficiency in spreadsheet and database tools (BigQuery, Sheets, Excel, AI Tools). Analytical Mindset: Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills within a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment. On-Site Commitment: This role is based in our Chicago office and requires a 5-day on-site presence. The pay ranges for this role based on location are: Chicago: $103,500-$172,500 New York/New Jersey: $113,800-$189,600.
