RMA Technician The RMA Technician will be responsible for determining root cause failure of all Tesla return parts. Other responsibilities include diligently adding this information and evidence into Tesla’s Root Cause Database, developing relationships with other functional departments to ensure the parts or information is transferred to the appropriate department. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of NDT procedures but be acutely aware of results that can be gleaned from performing pragmatic destructive test procedures. Planning, accuracy, intelligence, stamina and deduction, are qualities that are a must for this role. On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely… Triage & Teardown Perform destructive and non-destructive Root Cause Analysis on returned Lunar products Perform data analysis and testing procedures for root causing with guidance on SOP from engineering Maintain Root Cause Database with input from Engineering team. Diligently adding field failure observations and evidence into Lunar’s Root Cause Database Escalated any identified trends using RMA database in returned field parts to escalate urgency of field issues to engineering. Handling & Inventory Management Perform database transactions to manage the tracking, receiving, storing and moving of parts. Dispositioning returned parts based on guidance from the engineering group. Working closely with the team to assure data integrity, accuracy and efficiency in handling of returned parts. Physically moving failed parts across engineering departments and failure analysis labs (external and internal) to assure quick root cause investigations. Assure cleanliness, organization and safety of the MRB receiving and storing area, making this process world class. Provide simultaneous support and route parts back to Supplier Quality, Engineering, or Remanufacturing based on guidance and instructions. Assist engineering in developing and implementing containment countermeasures from returned part analysis. Utilizing multiple databases to flag individual components for review, and tracking transaction Creating test equipment and tools for custom Root Cause Analysis Assist in implementation and maintenance of 5S and MRB best practices. Navigate through Tesla’s database systems such as WarpDrive Maintain a safe working environment,Help sustain LEAN process as directed. Desired Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships across various organizations within Tesla. An engineering qualification either mechanical or electrical with sound knowledge of component failures is a plus. Knowledge of electrical components and/or high voltage training is a plus.. Familiar with diagnostic tools, such as multi-meters, micrometers, resistance testers, hi-pot testers etc is a plus. Ability to work independently and keep on task in an extremely fast-paced environment without direct supervision. Must be detail orientated, reliable, have good initiative, determination, and quality focused. Ability to perform repetitive duties whilst standing. The hourly range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $35 - $58 USD.
