Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department in a long‑term care setting. This role assists with clinical leadership, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and resident‑centered care. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall management and supervision of nursing services Support compliance with state, federal, and CMS regulations and participate in survey readiness activities Provide clinical oversight and guidance to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Participate in admissions, discharges, care plan meetings, and interdisciplinary team conferences Conduct resident assessments and monitor changes in condition as needed Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, and staffing level assessments Support quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives Participate in staff education, competency validation, and performance improvement efforts Assist with incident investigations, audits, and follow‑up corrective actions Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and staff Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON’s absence when assigned Promote resident rights, safety, dignity, and quality of life Required Qualifications Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Ohio Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience, preferably in long‑term care or skilled nursing Prior supervisory, charge nurse, or nursing leadership experience preferred Working knowledge of CMS regulations and long‑term care compliance standards Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an ADON, Unit Manager, or Nurse Supervisor Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems Experience with survey preparation, audits, and quality improvement initiatives Experience in a unionized environment (if applicable) Orchard Villa – Rooted in the Community Rooted in the Community: Orchard Villa is deeply connected to the Oregon, Ohio community.
