Description The RN Charge Nurse Supervisor, in addition to the requirements of Registered Nurse (RN), is organized, an effective communicator, and adheres to ANA professional Practices/standards while serving as a role model, teacher, and supervisor of nursing practice, policy, quality of care, and staff. The RN Charge Nurse Supervisor is: Responsible for the efficient movement of patients throughout the hospital system, serves as a clinical and administrative resource for staff, promotes communication at all levels, incorporates teaching principles into practice, and effectively manages clinical resources. Responsible for overseeing/supervising of staff. It is essential that the RN Charge Nurse Supervisor understand and support the department and organizational initiatives and strategic plan. Requirements Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or certificate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred) 3 years of recent, progressive experience in acute care nursing Experience in charge nurse or leadership positions Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact state RN license in good standing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Strong technical skills and competencies with IV therapy, transfusion care, medication administration, age-specific care, and BLS. Basic dysrhythmia, ACLS, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), De-escalation training (required completion at first course offering after hire). Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Course (within one year of hire). Recommended: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Specialty Certification desirable within the first year in role. Effective people skills, teamwork, and communication. Lead by example, be positive, responsive, and not reactive. The ability to maintain a positive presence in the department, and role model professional behaviors of collaboration, respect, patience, and advocacy for patients and staff. Proficiency in the use of technology in care delivery. Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $40.00 - $58.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
