Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Education Specialist. In this role you will serve as educator, consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer, clinical practice expert, and interprofessional collaborator supporting the clinical development needs of staff throughout the PHS enterprise. You will also support the educational components of the organizations clinical initiatives and practices.

Responsibilities:
Program Development, Promotion and Oversight Functions: Develops program in area of clinical expertise including training and development of specialty teams or specialty knowledge in all staff. Develops program elements such as clinical guidelines and disease state management protocols and clinical outcome studies; Promotes quality of care and development of standards of care through such activities as concurrent and retrospective chart review, conducting process and outcome evaluation and data analysis.
Integrates validated research findings into the specialty practice and disseminates information to others.
Education, Orientation and Assuring Staff Competence.
Participates in the education of nursing students by participating as clinical instructor for nursing students.
Participation in the Continuing Education Program.
Educates and assists in development of policy and procedure in compliance with JCAHO standards.
Coordinates activities designed to increase organizational morale and cohesiveness.
Participates in the improvement of the environment of care for patients, families, staff and physicians.
Continuously reviews, revises and updates nursing policy.
Utilizes current technology to promote clinical education.
Networks and collaborates with community resources for clinical enhancement.
Participates in community based projects that promote our organization and improve the healthcare of consumers in New Mexico.
Assists with Standards Based Practice development and implementation in identified nursing units.
Serves as expert resource to areas of specialty.
Consults as expert practitioner for policy and procedure development.
Participates in the production of the Nursing Newsletter.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse - State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BSN or Bachelors degree in health-related field with expectation of MSN / Masters degree in health-related field completion within 3 years of hireExperience: Minimum 5 years experience in clinical nursing
