JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary: The RN Clinical Resource Specialist provides support and direction for improvement efforts in the Department’s review functions.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Develops and maintains improvement activities. Reviews patient records and extracts data. Creates data collection tools and assists with collection methods as needed. Provides analysis and submits data and/or reports to multiple committees and divisional leadership.

Assists in completing and/or creating and implementing action plans as needed.

Completes advisor process variances, including investigation, completes timeline and root cause analysis, corrects and notifies leaders and peers of the outcome, and presents case presentation, when applicable; forwards results to Nursing Leadership and Critical Care Quality Committees.

Provides expertise with tools and techniques and promotes and participates in the Performance Improvement (PI) process.

Investigates unexpected outcomes and facilitates the development of action plans for correction.

Supports and helps maintains federal, state, and organizational improvement projects.

Performs audits for the Joint Commission measures of success and readiness.

- Helps to assist with education for team members on preventative measures to prevent adverse events and improve quality outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (must obtain within 3 years).
  • 2 plus years of related healthcare experience.OR
  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • 1 plus year of related healthcare experience.AND
  • Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS, ACLS, and EKG required in Critical Care and MedSurg Divisions and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS in OR and BLS, ACLS, and EKG required in Peri-Op and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring required in L&D, OB Triage, and 2 South; STABLE in NICU. Must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS certification; must be maintained throughout employment. Certification in Non-Aggressive Crisis Management; must be obtained while in orientation and maintained through employment in Behavioral Health.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • 2 plus years of experience in process improvement serving either in a Quality Improvement Department and/or leading or participating in process improvement teams.
