JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced RN – Clinical Supervisor for the Emergency Department (ED) at George Washington University Hospital. This is a leadership role in a fast-paced ED environment that cares for diverse patient populations ranging from urgent care and pediatric patients to critical care and trauma cases.
As the Clinical Supervisor, you will coordinate and deliver safe, high-quality patient care while supporting and guiding ED nursing staff. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance, promoting patient safety, and fostering a positive patient experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current RN license (state/district of practice) – Required
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required
  • 2+ years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience – Required
  • Certifications (all required): NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, ACLS
  • Cerner EMR experience – Required
  • BSN preferred
  • Leadership experience highly desired
  • Must be able to start within 2–3 weeks of offe

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support ED nursing staff in providing critical patient care.
  • Manage complex nursing needs, including medication titrations, arterial lines, mass blood transfusions, and chest tube management.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership in a high-volume, high-acuity environment.
