Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.
Summary:

As a Staff Nurse, you’ll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients’ physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care’s mission, vision, and values.

What You Bring:

EDUCATION:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, or as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Residential Care and Mental Health.
  • Completion of a post-graduate critical care course, or two years of recent experience in an equivalent setting.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures
  • Experience in teamwork, decision-making and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
  • Proficient in clinical leadership
  • A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field

  • Tertiary-Level Surgical Centre: St. Paul’s Hospital is a tertiary-level surgical centre and has a total of 16 beds in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
  • Learning: In the PACU, you have the opportunity to care for patients in a short period of time with a focused surgical assessment process. The level of care and acuity of our patients is unique.
