MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reporting to the Administrative Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process. * Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations checked: Adult (x) Geriatric (x). * Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care. * Knowledgably administers medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response. * Assess patients’ conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care * Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely report changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, includes follow-up on lab/test results. * Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skill in the nursing process. * Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area. * Participates in quality and performance improvement programs JOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education (Indicate minimum education or degree required.) * Graduate of RN Training Program * Completion of a basic EKG course Preferred Education (Indicate preferred education or degree required.) * Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate minimum years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.) * Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Must be able to work in a union environment. Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.) * Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred. * One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred.
